About & Resume

About Me

Hi!

I am a story-focused designer with a passion for immersive experiences and mindful adventures. Dedicated to fostering healthy workplaces where excellent products ship on time.

My design journey started as a industrial design major where I learnt the foundations of general design and user experience. I fell in love with playful interaction and decided to switch to game design which combines everything I love about design.

My other love is project management. Give me some spreadsheet and a timeline and I’ll have a blast. I get the most enjoyment out of setting my team up to succeed and take away whatever is blocking them. Be this in making their process easier, or helping them cope with problems of a more human nature.

Besides that, I am an avid crafter who picks up a new hobby every month, such as bookbinding, leather working, or dice making. I’m a sports enthusiast who has been playing rugby since the age of four.
Fun fact: I was on the Dutch under-18 national selection!

Awards and Activities

Part of Academy for Games and Media Participation Council – 2020-Current
I joined BUAS’ Academy for Games and Media participation council because I believe that when you think something should be changed, you should step up and do something about it. As a member of this council I am a student representative and as such talk to other students to discuss the educational systems and problems that they might be having. The council discusses and advices management with issues that affect and interest the academy. These are things such as academy budget and spending, educational methods and systems, academy vision, and student and staff (mental) health and safety issues.

BUAS LGBTQ+ Club Organiser – 2019-Current
Being part of the LGBTQ+ club since the very start, I have helped shape the club to what it is now; a safe space for over 70 queer students from all academies within the university. As an organiser I am responsible for setting up the weekly (physical) meetings and ensuring these run smoothly. I also communicate with the overal university club management.
More importantly, as a leader in this club I help solve issues that the queer community is running into. Ranging from having gender-neutral bathrooms in every building on every floor, to ensuring disciplinary action is taken against queerphobic staff.

Started and managed women’s rugby team
I set up a women’s rugby team within an existing club. During the starting period I took care of all managing and organising with the club and the new players. I also set up training plans and coached the team. This resulted in winning the league championship in the first season.
I am currently still a coach and player at this team.
